Italian health agencies roll out August 2026 services for tourists and cancer screening
From 1 August to 31 August 2026, the ASL Lanciano Vasto Chieti will operate a medical assistance clinic for non‑resident tourists in Vasto Marina, using the former fish market on the Cordella promenade. A doctor will be on site Tuesday‑Sunday, offering ambulatory visits (€20) and home visits (€35), with emergency care provided free of charge.
During the same month, ASL Roma 6 will keep its cancer‑prevention screening programme active, allowing free mammography for women aged 50‑74, colon‑rectum kits for men and women 50‑74, and Pap/HPV tests for women 25‑64. Screenings will be available at pharmacies and local consultori across the Rome district, with dedicated phone lines for appointments.
Both initiatives aim to address the seasonal rise in health needs among residents, visitors and at‑risk populations during Italy’s summer period.
