Italian health services expand temporary summer care and record successful cardiac‑arrest rescues

The Istituto Neurotraumatologico Italiano (INI) has introduced organized “temporary relief admissions” for seniors and frail patients during the summer months. The program provides short‑term hospital stays with 24‑hour medical monitoring, diagnostic services such as lab tests, imaging and rehabilitation, and amenities aimed at easing the burden on families and caregivers.

In the same period, the regional emergency system in Tuscany successfully revived two cardiac‑arrest victims – a 65‑year‑old man at a beach resort in Viareggio and a 48‑year‑old man during a padel match in Pietrasanta. Rapid defibrillation by on‑site staff, coordinated support from the 118 emergency centre and advanced mobile‑unit teams resulted in both patients being stabilised and transferred to Versilia hospitals for further care.
