Italian highway fires disrupt traffic in Pescara and Naples

A fire on State Road 714 near Montesilvano in the Pescara area forced the closure of the road between km 0 and km 2.3, with traffic diverted onto alternative routes. Separately, two simultaneous fires erupted on the Tangenziale of Napoli near the Agnano exit, creating dense black smoke that reduced visibility and halted traffic. The Tangenziale S.p.A. and fire services responded quickly, preventing serious accidents. Authorities are investigating the cause, considering possibilities ranging from a discarded cigarette to a deliberate act. Both incidents disrupted regional travel and prompted temporary traffic management measures.
