Italian hippodromes resume racing operations

Italian hippodromes have resumed activities following the summer break. The Ippodromo Bologna Arcoveggio reopened on September 17, featuring several races including a victory by Roberto Vecchione riding Girlonfire Obfont in the Premio Tacambaro.

In Rome, the Ippodromo delle Capannelle is hosting a public celebration on September 20 to mark its reopening and the centenary of its 1926 renovation. The event, which includes free admission, features horse racing, guided tours, and musical performances. The facility's restart follows a period of redevelopment and is part of a revitalization effort for the area, with temporary management assigned to Zètema Progetto Cultura. The reopening was supported by local and national officials, including Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri and Minister Francesco Lollobrigida.
