Italian INPS records 38,000 additional contributors in Friuli‑Venezia Giulia over ten years

The Italian Social Security Institute (INPS) reports that the number of contributors in the Friuli‑Venezia Giulia region rose by 38,000 between 2014 and 2024, a 7% increase that now covers over 95% of regular employees. The growth was led by a 20.5% expansion of private‑sector employment, which offset a sharp decline in occasional work (‑90%) and a reduction in self‑employment among artisans, traders and farmers (‑11% to ‑21%).

Increases were also observed among public‑sector workers, agricultural laborers, domestic staff and self‑employed professionals without a dedicated pension fund. The rise was proportionally larger for women and for the province of Gorizia. The number of workers aged over 60 grew by almost 35,000, and 3.6% of contributors (about 20,700) are pensioners still active in the labour market. The highest average incomes belong to administrators in the separate INPS management scheme, exceeding €60,000 annually, more than double the overall average of €27,210. Women’s average earnings remain roughly one‑third lower than men’s.
