Italian ITS institutes expand technical training with advanced design and port services programs
The ITS Maker Academy hosted an online open day on 8 July to present its new two‑year “Advanced Technological Design” programme in Faenza. The course trains CAD‑CAM technicians for sectors such as automotive, motorsport and composites, includes 2 000 hours of classroom and practical training, and is financed by regional, national and EU funds. The academy’s president Ormes Corradini said, "ITS Maker Academy nasce per offrire ai giovani una strada concreta verso il lavoro".
In Ischia, a graduation ceremony was held at the Palazzina Volaviamare on 6 July to mark the first cohort of the ITS “Technical Specialist for Port Services Management”. The program, created in partnership with local institutions and industry, equips graduates with skills to manage tourist and commercial port operations, coordinating cruise ship arrivals and passenger services. Graduates entered the maritime labour market and the event highlighted the value of specialized technical education for the regional economy.
