Expansion and specialization of Italian ITS Academies

Overview

Throughout mid-2026, Italy’s ITS Academy network expanded its technical training and infrastructure. In June, the ITS Academy Turismo Veneto opened applications for 2026–2028, while the ITS Digital Academy Mario Volpato partnered with the Regional Cyber Security Operational Centre to introduce police-led training. This coincided with the swearing-in of 195 new cyber-security vice-inspectors in Cesena.

Infrastructure growth included new campuses for the ITS Accademia Ligure Agroalimentare in Imperia—featuring AI-driven olive-farming labs with Plantvoice—and in Catania, focused on sustainable mobility. In Prato, a new “Smart Cities Control Room” lab was inaugurated to monitor urban mobility and energy. In Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the network reported a 92.4% graduate employment rate, prompting a €15 million investment for new campuses in Gorizia and Monfalcone.

Regional performance varied in Indire monitoring: Piemonte ranked first nationally, while Friuli-Venezia Giulia ranked sixth. Specialized programming continued with port services management in Ischia, advanced technological design in Faenza, and high-specialization industrial and biotech courses in Ascoli Piceno.

In late July, the ITS Academy Agroalimentare Teramo introduced three new agro-food pathways in Avezzano, and the “Alessandro Volta” academy in Palermo hosted a Family Day showcasing biomedical and biotech programs. By August, ITS Academy Fondazione Pinta announced an expansion into Calabria, offering specialized courses in olive oil, viticulture, and industrial maintenance starting in October.
