Italian Justice Ministry staff contract upheld by Confintesa union

The public‑sector union Confintesa Fp, together with Confsal Unsa, Cisl Fp, Uil Fp Giustizia and Flp, has reiterated its support for the integrative contract signed on 29 April 2026 with Justice Minister Carlo Nordio. The unions argue that the organisation of administrative staff in the courts must remain governed by the contract, not by the recent guidelines issued by the Consiglio Superiore della Magistratura that call for at least 70 % of staff time to be devoted to direct magistrate support.

Confintesa notes that the contract’s implementation rules, issued on 26 June, do not set strict employment percentages, leaving allocation decisions to court administrators. The agreement created new professional families for judicial staff and underpinned the stabilisation of more than 9,100 workers that took effect on 1 July. Union leader Claudia Ratti highlighted ongoing vacancies in court registries, with average shortfalls around 30 % and peaks above 50 % in some locations. The unions also back proposed amendments to decree‑law 100/2026 to keep it aligned with the contract and the new staffing framework.
