Italian-Libyan Chamber of Commerce sends restoration delegation to Benghazi

The Italian-Libyan Chamber of Commerce is sending a specialized delegation to Benghazi to conduct site inspections focused on restoration, engineering, and construction. Led by President Nicola Colicchi and Director Francesco Muraca, the mission includes several companies such as Pasqualucci, Piacenti, Europa Engineering, and Renco.

The delegation will work alongside engineers from the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund. A primary focus of the mission is the restoration of Benghazi’s historic center, which features architecture of Italian origin that was damaged during recent conflicts. This initiative follows the Benghazi Urban international exhibition held in early September, where the Chamber provided the largest foreign delegation.

These inspections are part of ongoing discussions regarding a master plan for the Al-Sabri area and the city's urban heart, aiming to preserve architectural identity while facilitating reconstruction.
