Casale Monferrato Police Resolve Illegal Occupation and Unsafe Building Eviction Without Force
The Local Police of Casale Monferrato carried out two separate operations that restored legal occupancy and safety without using coercive force. In the Oltreponte district, officers mediated with occupants of a housing unit owned by the Territorial Agency for Housing, leading the occupants – including several minors – to voluntarily vacate the premises on 6 July. The apartment was then returned to the agency.
On the same day, police enforced a court‑ordered eviction of residents from a structurally unsafe building on Corso Valentino. After mediation, a resident agreed to relocate to alternative accommodation provided by the property owner. Both actions were highlighted by Vice‑Mayor Luca Novelli as examples of effective, dialogue‑based policing that quickly restores legal rights and public safety.
Police commander Vittorio Pugno oversaw the mediation efforts, emphasizing that the interventions avoided any physical confrontation.
