Italian local police and Coast Guard run youth safety education programs

On 28 July, the Local Police of the Carnia mountain community held road‑safety sessions at the Betania summer centre and at schools in Ovaro, Villa Santina, Prato Carnico, Comeglians and Forni Avoltri, involving about a hundred children. Activities covered road signs, safe walking, cycling and scooter use, and included demonstrations of police equipment such as body‑cameras, anti‑cut vests and accident‑scene kits. A police dog unit, represented by the canine Aron, also performed search‑and‑rescue simulations.

In San Benedetto del Tronto, the Italian Coast Guard completed a two‑day program for participants of the “Anch’io sono la Protezione Civile 2026” school‑camp and the Locatelli Institute summer camp. The meetings emphasized marine safety, environmental protection and proper beach behaviour, linking the event to the ongoing “Mare e Laghi Sicuri 2026” operation that will maintain patrols and assistance along the coast throughout the summer.
