Italian media figures discuss evolution of entertainment and digital media
Italian media figures Lucio Presta and Gianluca Gazzoli have shared insights into the evolving landscape of the entertainment industry, highlighting the shift from traditional television to digital platforms.
At the Habita79 event in Pompeii, manager Lucio Presta discussed his book, ‘L’uragano. Sole, fulmini e saette’, which chronicles nearly fifty years in Italian show business. Presta, who transitioned from a dancer to an influential producer and agent, noted a decline in preparation and writing in the digital age. He cautioned that while digital platforms offer immense opportunities, the rapid rise of creators often lacks the rigorous study and method characteristic of traditional television production.
Radio host and podcaster Gianluca Gazzoli also reflected on his career and the impact of social media. Discussing his successful podcast BSMT, Gazzoli emphasized the importance of authenticity and warned against the negative consequences of spreading hate or violent content online. He shared personal anecdotes, including a memorable moment of being left alone on stage during his first Sanremo appearance, to illustrate the professional challenges and growth experienced in the industry.
