Italian medical and pharmacy bodies allocate €3.2 million for scholarships and rural pharmacy aid
The National Institute of Welfare for Doctors and Dentists (Enpam) opened applications for more than 600 scholarships aimed at children and orphans of medical and dental professionals. The programme, funded with about €2.4 million, includes 300 university‑level scholarships of €3,100 each, increased by 50 % for top‑grade graduates to €4,650, and 295 scholarships for primary, secondary and university students of orphans ranging from €600 to €3,100, also boosted for the highest grades. An additional 40 scholarships cover tuition fees for the Onaosi foundation’s residential schools.
The National Institute of Welfare for Pharmacists (Enpaf) approved a one‑off assistance contribution for rural pharmacy owners and members for 2026, allocating €800,000. Applications are accepted from 15 July to 1 September 2026. Eligibility requires ownership of a rural pharmacy, an ISEE household income below €60,000 and other financial criteria. Grants are awarded based on a scoring system that considers economic need and contribution history, and are distributed until the budget is exhausted.
