Italian motorways A1 and A11 to undergo nighttime maintenance closures

Scheduled nighttime maintenance and inspection works will cause several closures on major Italian motorways between September 14 and September 18, 2026.

On the A1 Milano-Napoli motorway, the section between Chiusi Chianciano Terme and Fabro toward Rome will be closed from 22:00 on Monday, September 14, until 05:00 on Tuesday, September 15. This closure affects the Fabro ovest service area and the heavy vehicle parking lot. Alternative routes are advised via Chiusi Scalo or through the Valdichiana and E45 routes for long-distance travel.

On the A11 Firenze-Pisa motorway, multiple closures are scheduled near Prato. From September 14 to September 15, the stretch between Prato est and Prato ovest toward Pisa will be closed for bridge inspections. Subsequent nights will see the Prato est station closed for paving works, and the section between Prato ovest and Prato est toward Florence will be closed for inspections between September 16 and September 17. These works are part of a broader infrastructure modernization program to improve safety and service quality.
