Italian motorways A1 and A8 to undergo nightly closures

Several major highway sections in Italy will undergo nightly closures in October 2026 to facilitate maintenance and paving works.

On the A8 Milano-Varese, closures are scheduled for the Lainate entrance toward Varese on the nights of October 5 and 6. Additionally, the Busto Arsizio exit toward Milan will close on the same nights, while the Gallarate exit toward Milan is scheduled to close from the night of October 7 to the morning of October 8. Further closures affecting Gallarate and Busto Arsizio are planned for the night of October 9.

On the A1 Milano-Napoli, a section between Reggio Emilia and the A22 Brennero-Modena junction toward Bologna will close during the nights of October 8 and October 9 for paving work. This will prevent access to the A22 junction toward Verona/Brennero. Furthermore, the Reggio Emilia station will be closed for maintenance on October 8 and 9, affecting traffic entering toward Milan and exiting from Bologna.
