Italian towns roll out extensive urban renewal and road works

Municipal authorities across Italy have launched a series of infrastructure projects aimed at improving traffic flow, safety and public spaces. In Frosinone, a €645,000 redevelopment of the De Matthaeis square will include a new roundabout, pedestrian pathways and night‑time construction to minimise disruption. Vitorchiano is advancing a €311,000 footbridge linking the town centre with Paparano, while Livorno has completed a two‑year, €6 million restoration of Via Grande, installing a new “palladiana” pavement and upgraded lighting.

Additional works include Pesaro’s phased “Anello di condensazione” upgrades on Via Passeri, Ancona’s road‑work resumption on Via Torresi and Via del Commercio, and a temporary water‑network maintenance operation in Rome’s south‑east districts on 16 July. Castel Bolognese will prune and maintain 375 city lime trees with a €100 000 budget, and Terlizzi will refurbish Viale Roma through a two‑phase resurfacing and signage program in July. Civitavecchia is preparing a €112 000 improvement of the access road to the PalaMercuri sports arena, and Mantova has inaugurated upgrades to Via Luzio, Via 8 Marzo and Via Scalarini to enhance accessibility and curb‑side amenities.
