Italian municipalities expand public cardioprotection networks
Local authorities in Italy are expanding public health safety measures through the deployment of Automated External Defibrillators (DAE).
In Crotone, city councilor Telemaco Pedace has launched the ‘Cardioprotected City’ initiative. The proposal encourages citizens to identify strategic locations for device installation, such as schools, sports facilities, squares, and public buildings, to create a comprehensive emergency response network.
In Ozzano, new defibrillators provided by the Emilia-Romagna region have been delivered to bolster the existing cardioprotection network. This initiative includes a collaboration with 118 and 112 emergency dispatch centers. Beyond equipment, officials plan to launch educational programs for schools and citizens to teach life-saving maneuvers and proper emergency call procedures.
