In Sicily, the regional government is implementing a plan to provide 202 semi-automatic defibrillators to municipalities with populations under 5,000. The first phase of deliveries has reached 54 municipalities within the Palermo and Trapani provinces. Other regional efforts include the expansion of cardioprotection networks. In Pesaro, the Leo Club Pesaro donated a new AED to Piazzale della Libertà. In Maranello, the ‘Maranello Cardioprotetta’ project inaugurated its 37th device in Piazza Toscanini. In Perugia, the ‘Perugia Braveheart’ project has added 42 new defibrillators and offers free first aid courses, with Mayor Vittoria Ferdinandi expressing support for the ‘Legge Bove’ national legislative proposal to expand training in schools. In Imola, the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Imola completed the distribution of 19 defibrillators to local schools and supports the ‘Ci sta a cuore’ project for CPR seminars.
Recent expansions include the “Contrade Cardioprotette” project in Ragusa, which recently installed a device at the Beata Maria Vergine di Lourdes parish. In Celano, the “Celano Città Cardioprotetta” project has reached 21 geolocated units, including new generation devices with pediatric functions. In Annone di Brianza, the municipal administration and Croce Verde di Bosisio organized training for residents, while in the Reggio region, the ‘Fanta Jordy – Per il Cuore’ project installed an AED in Sala di Mosorrofa through community funding.
