Italian municipalities face criticism over summer event management
Various Italian municipalities are facing criticism regarding the management of summer cultural programming and public spending.
In Capua, councilor Massimo Antropoli criticized the administration for a total lack of summer events, noting that neighboring towns provided more activities for citizens. He specifically targeted the lack of initiative from the tourism and culture sectors.
In Francavilla Fontana, Forza Italia group leader Alessio Curto attacked the local majority, accusing them of presenting a distorted view of the city's condition. Curto denounced the high cost of the summer event calendar and announced that the opposition will demand an accounting of the public resources used.
In Ferrara, the municipal administration has rejected the current format of the Buskers Festival. Despite providing 110,000 euros in support—which accounts for roughly 70% of the festival's budget—the city expressed dissatisfaction with the decision to implement paid access to parts of the historic center.
