Italian municipalities install new public defibrillators

The municipality of Ragusa placed the first external automated defibrillator (DAE) at the Beata Maria Vergine di Lourdes parish in San Giacomo, launching the "Contrade Cardioprotette" program. The initiative, promoted by the Assessorate for Frazioni and Contrade and approved by the city council, aims to create a network of cardioprotected communities across the town’s districts, with upcoming public meetings to raise awareness.

In the Ancona province, two additional public defibrillators will be inaugurated on 5 August in the frazioni of Massignano and Poggio. The devices join 22 already installed and were funded by the Ancona municipality, with the Poggio unit’s housing donated by the Unbeatables association. Both projects seek to improve rapid response to cardiac arrests and foster a culture of prevention and community safety.
