Italian municipalities plan mosquito and rodent control for early August
The municipalities of Marino and Termoli in Italy have announced disinfestation campaigns targeting adult mosquitoes, larvae and rodents during the nights of 3–5 August 2026. Marino will treat areas such as Marino Centro, Cave Peperino and local parks, while Termoli will carry out adulticidal spraying on the night of 3 August followed by larvicidal and derattisation work on the morning of 4 August.
Residents are asked to keep windows closed, avoid staying outdoors in treated zones, store food and clothing inside, and keep pets indoors with their feeding dishes secured. The measures aim to improve urban hygiene, reduce insect and rodent populations, and protect public health.
Both towns emphasize that the precautions should be followed throughout the spray period and for at least 20 minutes after each treatment ends.
