Italian municipalities push urban road upgrades to ease traffic and support businesses

In Ancona‑Pesaro and Urbino, Paolo Longhi and Luca Casagrande of Confartigianato Imprese warn that prolonged construction on urban roads is harming local merchants. They call for coordinated planning, timely communication and possible compensation for businesses most affected by overlapping works such as the closure of Largo Sacramento.

In the neighbouring Marche region, the regional government, Province of Fermo and participating municipalities have approved funding for the design phase of the Strada Provinciale Val d’Ete. The project aims to upgrade the arterial road linking inland towns with the coastal area, improving safety, connectivity and overall functionality through phased works financed according to local technical needs.
