Italian Museums Extend Summer Hours for Van Dyck Show and Night Tours

The Palazzo Ducale in Genoa has lengthened its opening hours for the Van Dyck retrospective “Van Dyck l’europeo. Il viaggio di un genio da Anversa a Genova e Londra”. The exhibition, featuring 60 paintings on loan from institutions such as the Louvre, the Prado and the National Gallery, will be open daily from 10:00 to 19:00, with Friday and Saturday evenings extended to 20:00, until 19 July. A newly added work is the 1635 portrait of the three eldest sons of Charles I of England, loaned from the Royal Museums of Turin. Admission is €15 (€13 reduced).

From 1 July to 6 September, Ravenna’s “Mosaico di notte” programme offers guided night visits and extended opening times at sites including the Basilica of San Vitale, the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, the Museo Byron, the National Museum and other historic venues. Special concerts and musical events are scheduled on selected evenings, providing extra cultural experiences for visitors.
