Italian musical seasons launch in Pavia and Padova
Several musical series are launching autumn seasons in Italy. In Pavia, Teatro Fraschini is presenting ‘Preludi d’Autunno’ from September 20 to October 3. This series consists of five concerts designed to lead into the upcoming Opera Season through various symphonic intersections. The program includes themes such as ‘Byronmania’, which connects Byron to Rossini, and ‘Britten in Love’, exploring the composer's biographical and musical connections.
In Padova, the ‘Padova Urbs Organi - Note d’Autunno’ festival will focus on solo organ and choral music. The series features international performers such as Alessio Corti and Wladimir Matesic, with performances held in the churches of S. Daniele, S. Antonio Abate, and S. Giustina. The program includes works ranging from J.S. Bach to French composers like Franck and Widor, concluding with a performance by the male choir ‘Il Sestriere’.
