Italian officials back Bolzano steelworkers and Sardinian industrial workers

Provincial assessor Christian Bianchi in Bolzano said the right to demonstrate must be guaranteed, expressing support for steelworkers after authorities denied a protest permit. He emphasized the importance of protecting strike and protest rights while working toward securing the future of the local steel industry and jobs.

In Sardinia, CACIP president Barbara Porru joined a sit‑in at the Macchiareddu industrial area, meeting workers, unions and regional officials. She highlighted the strategic role of the zone for the regional economy, calling for investment in infrastructure, sustainability and digitalisation, and urged collaborative action to preserve existing employment and create new jobs.
