Italian officials urge coordinated plan to curb wild boar risks in Teramo

In the city of Teramo, a surge in wild boar sightings has raised safety concerns for residents, motorists and public spaces. Italia Viva representative Camillo Rastelli called on the mayor to adopt a municipal plan, stressing systematic reporting, identification of high‑risk zones and coordination with provincial and regional authorities.

Forza Italia agronomist Sebastian Limata also urged an integrated response, proposing mass trapping, the use of drones and thermal‑camera monitoring, and a broader regional strategy involving agricultural, health and wildlife agencies. Both parties argue that hunting alone is insufficient and that coordinated action is needed to protect roads and farmland.
