Italian olive oil sector convenes national conferences on innovation and tourism
The "EXTRA!" conference organized by Assoproli Bari gathered millers, growers, technicians, researchers, leading companies and institutions from across Italy and abroad to discuss technological innovation, process control, data analysis and certified quality as drivers of competitiveness in olive oil production.
In Calabria, the first convention of the National Association of City of Oil was held in Corigliano‑Rossano, attended by municipal officials such as Imola’s agriculture councilor Pierangelo Raffini, researchers and industry representatives. The three‑day event focused on landscape protection, biodiversity, work quality and oleotourism, and concluded with the signing of the “Carta di Calabria,” a strategic guideline for supporting olive‑growing territories and promoting olive oil as a cultural, environmental and economic asset. Raffini said, "Questa convention ha dimostrato che l’olivicoltura non è soltanto una produzione agricola di eccellenza, ma rappresenta un patrimonio identitario, culturale, ambientale ed economico."
