Italian police arrest thieves after villa break-in and two armed robberies in Verona area
In Torbole Casaglia, Lombardy, two 41‑year‑old men broke into a villa on the night of 27‑28 May 2026. When police arrived, the suspects fled by leaping from a balcony, sustaining leg injuries. They were quickly captured, taken to hospital and then arrested for aggravated theft, with the stolen items recovered and returned to the homeowner.
Separately, the Carabinieri in the Verona province arrested a 30‑year‑old and a 28‑year‑old suspected of committing two armed robberies in November 2025 – one at a bar in Valeggio sul Mincio and another at a tobacco shop in San Giorgio in Salici. Investigation using CCTV footage and forensic analysis linked the men to the crimes, leading to charges of aggravated robbery, assault and illegal possession of a firearm.
Both cases were concluded with arrests and custodial orders issued by the local court.
