Italian police detain multiple suspects in thefts in Terni and Perugia

In the province of Terni, Carabinieri operations resulted in the arrest of three individuals. A 52‑year‑old man was caught after a vehicle theft and the car was recovered; two Romanian women were detained at a supermarket carrying stolen cosmetics and food items worth over €600, which were returned to their owners. A 28‑year‑old Moroccan man was arrested for an aggravated supermarket robbery after brandishing a knife while fleeing on an electric scooter. The arrests were confirmed by the public prosecutor, with preventive measures such as home detention, a DASPO ban and administrative penalties applied.

In Perugia, State police halted a Romanian man (42) and woman (47) suspected of six residential burglaries. Both attempted to escape toward the north of Italy via the A14. Police intercepted them, seized gold jewelry linked to the thefts, and placed them in custody at prisons in Bologna and Perugia under preventive detention pending further judicial proceedings.
