Italian police expel 29 irregular migrants in Padova and Cesenatico
In July, the Padova police chief Marco Odorisio ordered 28 expulsions of irregular migrants. Ten individuals were transferred to reception centres for repatriation, seven were escorted directly to the border, and eight received orders to leave Italy within seven days. The measures also included alternative removal actions for two EU citizens. The expelled persons comprised nationals from Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Gambia, the Dominican Republic, Pakistan, Albania, Nigeria, Serbia, Romania, and France.
Separately, police in Cesenatico expelled a 20‑year‑old Albanian who had overstayed his permitted period in the EU. After fingerprint and passport checks, the Prefect of Forlì‑Cesena authorized the expulsion, which was carried out by the local police and confirmed by a judge. The young man was escorted to the airport and handed over to immigration authorities for repatriation.
