Italian police launch intensive raids in Sora and Savona

In Sora, the State Police carried out an extensive territorial control operation, deploying units from the Frosinone Questura, Cassino and Sora Commissariates, the Lazio Crime Prevention Department, the Naples Mobile Unit, drug‑ and explosives‑detection dogs, and a helicopter. Searches focused on an area with a Sinti family linked to previous investigations, resulting in one person being charged with receiving a stolen scooter that had been taken in Frosinone earlier this year.

During the same weekend in Savona, police intensified patrols and made two arrests and four denunciations. A 39‑year‑old Moroccan man was detained after damaging a police patrol car and threatening minors. In a separate stop, a 27‑year‑old Moroccan was found with small amounts of cocaine and hashish, while a young woman surrendered a 17‑cm folding knife. Additional confrontations led to the seizure of a knife, suspected stolen goods, and a smartphone, and to further charges for drug possession and weapon carrying.
