Italian police raids in Anzio and Lecce lead to multiple arrests and weapon seizures

In the coastal town of Lavinio, Carabinieri from the Anzio station, supported by the NAS of Rome, conducted a large‑scale control that identified 58 people and 39 vehicles. The operation resulted in three arrests – a Bulgarian man caught attempting a theft, a 46‑year‑old found with 326 g of marijuana, 153 g of hashish and a small amount of cocaine, and a 26‑year‑old serving a previous sentence – as well as three DUI denunciations, one charge for illegal lock‑picking tools and two commercial establishments fined over €7,000 for serious health‑code violations. Seven road‑code infractions were also recorded.

In Lecce, police carried out extraordinary territorial checks that identified 2,691 individuals and inspected 1,111 vehicles. Officers seized a scacciacani pistol with ammunition, 1.72 g of hashish, and filed five free‑foot denouncements. Arrests included a man for arson and property damage, another for illegal computer access, and two men for refusing drug‑testing while driving and for illegal weapon possession. The operations involved multiple police units, including the Carabinieri, the Guardia di Finanza canine team and local municipal police, and focused on nightlife areas, transport hubs and public spaces.
