Italian police seize illegal gaming machines and arrest extortion ring in Caserta

In Catania, police and the Agency of Customs and Monopolies seized 14 illegal gaming machines worth about €700,000 and imposed a €700,000 administrative fine on the venue owner. The devices were not compliant with payout regulations and evaded tax controls.

In the Caserta area, mobile police units detained 11 suspects after kidnapping an entrepreneur who refused to sell a €600,000 Lamborghini. The victim was beaten, threatened, and robbed of cash, a luxury watch and vehicle keys. Authorities linked the extortion to local criminal clans and charged the suspects with kidnapping, extortion, robbery and aggravated assault.
