Italian police seize untaxed drinks and close bar over under‑age alcohol sales

The Guardia di Finanza in the province of Lecce intensified inspections and seized roughly 190,000 products, including 3,200 cans and bottles of untraceable alcoholic beverages amounting to almost 2,000 litres. Fourteen individuals were identified as responsible and fined more than €15,000 while investigations continue to dismantle the supply chain.

In Bari, local police found minors – some under 16 – being served alcoholic drinks inside a city‑centre wine bar. The establishment, previously penalised for selling alcohol after midnight, was ordered to shut for three days and faces possible legal action for violating national under‑age drinking laws.
