Italian police suspend agriturismo and fine venues for safety breaches
In a coordinated night operation on 20‑21 June 2026, Carabinieri units from Civitanova Marche, Potenza Picena and Porto Potenza Picena inspected public venues along the Adriatic coast. The raid resulted in the immediate suspension of a local agriturismo after inspectors found serious hygiene deficiencies, fire‑prevention failures and other workplace‑safety violations. The operator was charged under articles 29 and 46 of Legislative Decree 81/2008 and fined a total of €20 000.
During the same weekend, the State Police of Formia and health‑prevention officers from the ASL of Minturno carried out special checks on several businesses on the island of Ventotene. Inspections uncovered missing mandatory safety devices, lack of required informational signage and an unauthorized public dance event. Administrative penalties exceeding €20 000 were imposed and the owners were referred to the judicial authorities for criminal violations. Both operations are part of an ongoing territorial‑control plan aimed at safeguarding public health, worker safety and legal compliance in tourist‑heavy areas of Italy.
