Italian police suspend licenses of two venues over safety violations

The State Police in the province of Foggia ordered a ten‑day suspension of the licence of a well‑known bar in the centre of Vieste. The measure, taken under article 100 of the Public Security Code, followed extensive checks that found the establishment was a regular meeting place for convicted individuals and was the scene of a gun‑fire incident, prompting concerns for public order and safety.

In the municipality of Ozzano dell’Emilia, the Bologna Questore also imposed a ten‑day licence suspension on a public venue after an administrative inspection uncovered numerous safety breaches. Inspectors noted the absence of fire‑prevention staff, missing extinguishers, lack of documentation for suspended loads and acoustic impact, no marked escape routes, and no temporary sanitary facilities, all of which endangered public safety during a temporary event. Both suspensions were enacted under the same legal provision (art. 100 T.U. L.P.S.) to address serious security deficiencies.
