Italy political landscape shifts amid electoral debates and coalition maneuvering

Italian political dynamics are shifting across several fronts. In Reggio Calabria, upcoming by-elections have sparked debate over candidate selection, with liberal groups calling for representatives with deep local ties rather than national appointees.

Regarding electoral reform, discussions continue over the impact of the current system. Critics, including PD deputy Federico Fornaro, argue that new rules may limit voter choice, with simulations suggesting fewer than one in five parliamentarians would be elected via direct voter preference.
