Italian politicians call for ban on neo-Nazi rally in Trentino

Italian opposition politicians are calling for the ban of a planned neo-Nazi gathering titled ‘Ritorno a Camelot’, scheduled to take place between September 3 and 6. While organizers claim the event will occur in ‘Northern Italy’, Telegram communications suggest the rally will be held in the Trentino region.

The event is organized by the far-right group Veneto Fronte Skinhead and involves ‘Rock Against Communism’ (RAC) concerts. Critics, including Avs deputy Angelo Bonelli, have noted the involvement of the neo-Nazi organization ‘Blood & Honour’, which has previously faced sanctions in the United Kingdom for inciting terrorism. Bonelli has submitted a parliamentary inquiry to Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi, arguing the event promotes ideologies that violate the Italian Constitution.

In Trentino, Democratic Party deputy Sara Ferrari has appealed to the provincial security committee to prevent any assembly that promotes racial hatred, antisemitism, or fascist violence. The Prefect of Trentino, Isabella Fusiello, has convened an urgent meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security to address the situation. Historically, such groups have attempted to hold these gatherings as private events to bypass the legal requirement of notifying authorities of public outdoor demonstrations.
