Dafne Rebaudo's death in Rome leads to arrest of Tunisian partner on femicide charge

On 13 July 2026 the body of 30‑year‑old Dafne Rebaudo was found on the ground of a terrace in the Tor Bella Monaca district of Rome after she fell from the building. Initial police assessments considered a possible suicide, but the investigation shifted after surveillance footage showed the victim and her Tunisian partner climbing together and only the man descending while carrying the victim’s handbag. Neighbour testimonies also reported hearing screams before the fall.

The 41‑year‑old Tunisian man, identified as Mohamed Trabelsi, who was already subject to an obligation‑to‑sign measure, was placed in pre‑trial detention on a charge of aggravated femicide under the law of 2 December 2025. The arrest was ordered by the Procura della Repubblica di Roma and the case is now being examined by the VI Distretto di Polizia Casilino under public prosecutor Francesco Saverio Musolino. Investigators continue to analyse the video evidence and the couple’s inconsistent statements to reconstruct the exact sequence of events.
