Rome femicide investigation of Dafne Rebaudo

Overview

On 13 July 2026 the body of 30‑year‑old Dafne Rebaudo was found after she fell from a balcony in Rome’s Tor Bella Monaca district. Initial police assessments considered suicide, but surveillance footage showing Rebaudo and her Tunisian partner Mohamed Trabelsi climbing together, followed by Trabelsi descending alone with her handbag, prompted a shift to a homicide inquiry.

Neighbour testimonies of screams before the fall and reports of a chaotic building environment added weight to the femicide theory. By early August, investigators publicly accused Trabelsi of pushing Rebaudo during an argument and placed him in pre‑trial detention on an aggravated femicide charge. Rebaudo’s mother has called for full justice, emphasizing that the victim’s personal issues do not excuse the alleged violence.

The case remains under investigation by Rome’s VI Distretto di Polizia Casilino, with prosecutors examining video evidence and the couple’s statements to reconstruct the exact sequence of events.
