Italian rallying: Record entries for Casciana Terme and 1000 Miglia rally
The upcoming rally season in Italy features two major events. The 44th Rally Casciana Terme in the province of Pisa expects a record 130 crews. The competition includes both modern and historic vehicles and serves as a qualifying event for the Coppa Rally di Zona 7. Notable competitors include WRC3 leader Matteo Fontana, driving a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, challenging local specialists such as Claudio Arzà and Rudy Michelini.
Separately, the 49th Rally 1000 Miglia is scheduled from September 3 to 5, 2026, in the province of Brescia. The event will feature 92 crews, with four-time Italian champion Andrea Crugnola positioned as a favorite. The race includes eight special stages covering over 116 kilometers, featuring high-profile drivers from the CIRC championship, including Marco Signor and Daniele Michi.
