Italian Red Cross and Misericordia launch new ambulances in several towns

On 23 May 2026 the Italian Red Cross committee of Ronciglione and Sutri marked its 30‑year anniversary by unveiling a new ambulance, funded by Grimaldi Group and BCC Roma. The ceremony was attended by local mayors, the president of the Lazio Red Cross, and other officials.

Two days later, on 26 May, the island of Giglio inaugurated the Misericordia “Stella Maris” ambulance in front of the church of Santi Lorenzo e Mamiliano. Governor Pietro Baffigi emphasized the ambulance’s vital role for a community that lacks a hospital and a permanent emergency department.

On 7 June the Red Cross of Rignano sull’Arno opened a new ambulance and an equipped vehicle donated by Beta Motor and the Fondazione CR Firenze. The event, attended by Mayor Giacomo Certosi and regional Red Cross officials, also signaled a fresh start after a recent period of commissariat.

All three ceremonies highlight the continued expansion of volunteer‑run emergency medical services across Italian towns, supported by local authorities and private donors.
