Rosario Abisso FIGC Serie A referee reinstatement pre‑season camp

The Federal Tribunal of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has accepted the appeal filed by Rosario Abisso, a Palermo‑born referee who was dismissed at the end of the previous season. The tribunal’s disciplinary section ruled that Abisso may be admitted in surplus to the regular roster of referees for the pre‑season camp of the Italian Referees Association (CAN) starting on 6 August 2026.

The provisional decision allows Abisso to participate in the summer preparation and makes him eligible for assignment to the opening matches of the Serie A championship, which begins on 22 August 2026. A full merits hearing is scheduled for 3 September 2026, after which a final ruling will be issued.
