Italian regional traditions highlighted through agricultural tourism

Various regional initiatives in Italy are promoting local agricultural traditions and sensory experiences. In Puglia, olive oil mills in the Valle d’Itria, including areas around Martina Franca, Cisternino, and Ostuni, offer tastings that allow visitors to engage with the entire production cycle, from harvesting to extraction. These experiences focus on identifying authentic aromas such as cut grass and artichoke.

In the Abruzzo Molise region, the farm and dairy La Grancia di Sant’Angelo in Villetta Barrea is hosting the “Il Territorio in Fattoria” event. The initiative features workshops on natural plant dyeing, the biology of bees, and gardening, alongside demonstrations of traditional fiordilatte cheese production. The event also includes a local market showcasing regional producers and artisans.
