Italian regional wine events showcase Valtellina and Alto Adige varieties

Various Italian wine events are highlighting regional viticulture through tasting experiences and gastronomic pairings.

Morbegno in Cantina 2026 will take place in the historic center of Morbegno over three weekends from September 25 to October 11. The event features over 60 labels, including Sforzato, organic wines, and sparkling varieties. Guided by AIS sommeliers and ONAV tasters, the festival includes specialized paths such as 'Voci di Vigna,' where small producers present their wines directly to the public at the Chiostro Sud di Sant'Antonio.

Meanwhile, the Consorzio Vini Alto Adige is conducting an itinerant project titled ‘L’Alto Adige che non ti aspetti.’ The initiative pairs Alto Adige wines, such as Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay, and Pinot Nero, with iconic Italian culinary traditions. The fifth stage of this nine-city tour recently took place in Bologna at Ristorante Zivieri, following previous stops in Milan, Florence, Verona, and Naples. The tour is scheduled to continue through Brescia, Rome, and Bari, concluding in Turin.
