Italian regional wine and viticulture events
Overview
Regional wine events in Italy are highlighting local viticulture through festivals and itinerant tasting projects.
In Sondrio, the second edition of ViVa Vini Valtellina drew approximately 3,000 attendees, including industry professionals and enthusiasts. Organized by the Consorzio di Tutela dei Vini di Valtellina, the event featured 40 wineries and focused on mountain viticulture and the Nebbiolo delle Alpi grape. The program included technical discussions on climate and biodiversity alongside vineyard tours and tastings.
Further regional promotion includes the ‘Morbegno in Cantina 2026’ event, scheduled from September 25 to October 11, which will feature over 60 labels such as Sforzato and organic varieties. Additionally, the Consorzio Vini Alto Adige is conducting a nine-city tour titled ‘L’Alto Adige che non ti aspetti,’ pairing regional wines like Gewürztraminer and Pinot Nero with Italian culinary traditions. The tour has moved through cities including Milan, Florence, and Bologna, with upcoming stops in Brescia, Rome, Bari, and Turin.
