Italian regions advance fiscal measures for care homes and coastal protection
In Friuli Venezia Giulia, regional councilor Francesco Martines (PD) introduced an amendment to align the regional property tax (Ilia) with national IMU rules, seeking exemption for non‑profit nursing homes, residential care facilities and other social‑health structures. The proposal aims to reduce costs for these entities, though it does not resolve all financial challenges they face.
Meanwhile, the Veneto regional government approved a €14 million loan to fund a three‑year plan (2026‑2028) for soil protection, hydro‑geological risk prevention, and coastal defence. The financing will be secured through Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and will support works along rivers and the coastline from the Tagliamento to the Adige mouth, addressing erosion and climate‑adaptation needs.
