Italian regions seek emergency aid after severe hailstorms
In the Marche region, Democratic Party lawmaker Maurizio Mangialardi urged the Acquaroli regional government to merge the dossiers for the hailstorms of 3 June and 21 July, request a state of emergency and apply law 7/2025 to provide compensation to families and businesses that suffered extensive damage across all provinces.
In Campania, mayor Massimiliano Minichiello of Montemiletto appealed to regional authorities to declare a state of natural calamity after an exceptional hailstorm on 2 August 2026 caused severe damage to crops, farms, roads and vehicles throughout the municipality and the wider Irpinia area. Both appeals highlight the push for emergency measures and financial relief for affected agricultural and local‑business sectors.
