Italian religious artworks unveiled following restoration

Several religious artworks in Italy are being unveiled following recent restoration efforts.

In Avella, the restored 1821 painting ‘Vergine in gloria e Santi’ by Odoardo Fischetti will be presented at the Church of Santa Marina – Collegiata San Giovanni on October 8. The event involves local religious and cultural authorities, including the Diocese of Nola and the Superintendency for the provinces of Salerno and Avellino, to highlight the preservation of the town's historical and religious heritage.

In Acerenza, the restoration of a 17th-century polychrome wooden sculpture of the ‘Cristo Crocifisso’ will be presented at the Acerenza Cathedral on October 10. Organized by the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for Basilicata in collaboration with the Diocese of Acerenza, the presentation will detail the technical methodologies, diagnostic investigations, and historical findings uncovered during the conservation process.
