Italian residents demand action against urban decay and hygiene issues
Residents in several Italian localities are expressing growing frustration over declining public hygiene and urban decorum. In Vailate, citizens have reported significant issues following weekend nightlife, citing broken glass, accumulated waste, and general degradation in central areas. Some residents described the situation as being ‘literally out of control,’ noting instances of uncooperative behavior from groups of youths when asked to clean up debris.
Similarly, in Spoltore, residents of Via G. di Marzio have petitioned Mayor Chiara Trulli for intervention regarding pet waste. Citizens report having to clean their properties daily due to animal excrement on sidewalks and private premises. The community is calling for official ordinances to mandate that pet owners clean up after their animals, alongside increased daytime and nighttime patrols to address both hygiene issues and unauthorized vehicle activity in residential streets.
